Manuel de Rábago is the Global Head of Internal Audit of Santander Asset Management (SAM) since 2017.
He joined Banco Santander's Internal Audit Department in 1993, and held several positions in connection with Wholesale Banking and Asset Management, having participated in most of the due diligence processes involved in Santander's expansion in LatAm. In 2009, he was appointed Internal Control Manager of Santander Global Wholesale Back Office and, in 2014, Chief Risk Officer of Santander Securities Services. Previously, he worked as an analyst at Banco Santander de Negocios, Sociedad de Valores as well as at the Bank of Spain's Central Balance Sheet Data Office.
Manuel holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Colegio Universitario de Estudios Financieros (CUNEF), attached to Madrid Complutense University. He has completed the Executive Development Programme at IESE Business School and the Credit Institution Inspection Course at the Bank of Spain Training Centre. Since 2019 he has been a lecturer in the Master's programme in Auditing and Financial Risks at Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB).
